Today, we curated some of the news from crypto and blockchain organizations in the Philippines from last week (Feb. 17 – 23, 2025).

2025 Philippine Blockchain Ecosystem Map

The 2025 Philippine Blockchain Ecosystem Map highlights key industry players, startups, and blockchain-driven companies, offering exposure in the Philippine Blockchain Report 2025. Organized by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines, with support from Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra and Gobi-Core Philippine Fund, this initiative aims to connect businesses with investors and stakeholders.

Companies involved in blockchain or crypto-related services can apply by submitting details such as their name, industry, website, social media, and logo. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2025. 

Interested firms can sign up through this link to be part of the initiative.

Filipinos at Consensus HK 2025

Filipino web3 leaders joined Consensus Hong Kong 2025, showcasing the country’s growing role in blockchain and crypto. Attendees from SparkPoint, YGG, Coins.ph, Sovrun, and The BLOKC engaged in discussions on AI, DeFi, and digital payments.

Beyond networking, the event provided Filipino entrepreneurs with valuable insights into regulatory trends, investment strategies, and emerging opportunities in blockchain technology. With four Filipinos among the 356 speakers, the event highlighted the increasing recognition of Philippine web3 talent and projects on the international stage. 

Ash Mandhyan is stepping down as CEO of MetaverseGo after three years of building the web3 mobile platform and will rejoin TikTok in a role focused on AI, data, and ad solutions. 

MetaverseGo, launched in 2022, aimed to simplify web3 access through mobile logins and secured a $4.2 million seed round, along with telecom partnerships like Globe. As the web3 space remains competitive, the startup’s future depends on its ability to adapt, whether through a strategic pivot, securing new investments, or strengthening existing initiatives.

The BLOCK and Base Power of Code Bootcamp

The UnBLOKC the Power of Code Bootcamp, powered by The BLOKC and BASE, was held on February 22-23, 2024.

The event, hosted by PSITE DFCAMCLP, was a free and interactive hands-on bootcamp designed for developers, builders, and tech enthusiasts eager to enhance their skills and explore building Bitcoin-secured dApps on Core.

SparkPoint x Arbitrum Trailblazer AI Grant Program

SparkPoint recently announced that it was selected as a recipient of Arbitrum’s Trailblazer AI Grant Program. This initiative recognizes leading builders who are driving AI innovation within the web3 space, highlighting their contributions to the advancement of decentralized technology.

Sparkpoint expressed that it will use the grant to further enhance AI-driven solutions that will optimize its platform and provide greater value to developers, businesses, and the broader community. 

MFW Caravan

In a tweet, YGG Pilipinas teases the new nationwide event it will host called the “MFW Caravan” which aims to give Filipinos exciting new ways to learn, play, work, and grow.

Last year, the guild hosted the YGG Roadtrip which started in April 2024, traveling across six cities in the Philippines, including Lipa, Baguio City, Davao City, Cebu, Bacolod and Quezon City.

GAP Season 9 Launch

YGG’s Guild Advancement Program Season 9 officially went live on February 19.  This season introduces 12 new and returning games, including Vibes, MetaCene, and Ember Sword.

GAP is YGG’s rewards system that grants YGG tokens and non-transferable NFTs to members for contributing to the guild. Inspired by gaming achievements, it encourages DAO participation, content creation, and in-game success while tracking contributions on-chain to build a reputation-based résumé within the YGG ecosystem.

Devcon Recap in Baguio

Organized by ETH63 and Ethereum Philippines, the Devcon7 SEA Recap event took place in Baguio City on February 15 and 17, 2025, at the University of the Cordilleras and University of the Philippines Baguio, respectively. 

The gathering brought together developers, blockchain enthusiasts, and Ethereum builders to revisit key insights from Devcon7 Bangkok (November 12-15, 2024). Attendees engaged in discussions about Ethereum’s development roadmap for 2025, participated in breakout sessions led by Devcon attendees and community leaders, and explored hands-on workshops showcasing Web3 innovations.
