Pump.fun, the popular Solana-based meme coin launchpad, has restored its livestreaming feature to 5% of users after a period of suspension due to backlash over disturbing and inappropriate content that aired during some streams, co-founder Alon said on Friday.

Upon the feature’s reactivation, the platform implemented a new content moderation policy in a bid to strike a balance between creative freedom and user safety, while also protecting the platform from illegal or harmful content.
The platform prohibits various forms of harmful content, including graphic violence, harassment, sexual content, youth endangerment, illegal activities, privacy violations, copyright infringement, and terrorism or violent extremism.
“To cultivate a social environment on pump fun that preserves creativity and freedom of expression and encourages meaningful engagement among users, free of illegal, harmful, and negative interactions,” the platform stated in its new policy document.
Unlike some platforms, Pump.fun does not ban Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content by default.
As stated in the document, “much content” on its platform could fall into that category, and Pump.fun will make case-by-case decisions on what is appropriate.
Pump.fun’s team will reserve “the right to unilaterally determine the appropriateness of content where necessary and to moderate it accordingly.” This means users may encounter adult themes—but also that moderation teams have the authority to step in when needed.
Violations may result in stream termination and account suspension. Users can appeal content removal through Pump.fun’s support system, though the platform maintains final discretion over policy enforcement.
Pump.fun suspended its live streaming feature last November following widespread backlash over harmful and abusive content broadcast on the platform.
The platform faced severe criticism after users broadcast violent threats, self-harm incidents, and explicit acts to manipulate token values.
